I've been a fan of the series monster Lotu Showalter since spending time with Maddox first, but I must admit, after book six, are a bit 'confused. In The Darkest Lie we see the development of relations between Gideon, keeper of lies and Scarlet, guardian of nightmares, plots with Galen (Hope), Head Hunters, and Mnemosyne, his sister Rhea and Cronus' sister-in-law, not mention the wires with other gentlemen, Strider (loss) in particular, but also a search Amon(Secrets), Aeron (Wrath ex) and William (not a Lord, but still). I must be honest, as much as I love the series and completely Showalter congratulate you on your imagination and originality, I felt there were too many balls in the air as The Darkest Lie, to the detriment of the development of Gideon and Scarlet as individual characters, and together in their relationship, and this is the first book in the series that 'as a whole, it did not completely knock out the park for me.br / br / Believe meI'm hesitant to say that, because honestly, I liked the book, and there are parts that I enjoyed much better than the two previous books (especially the ending). I love Gideon – always – and I really liked the character (besides having a slight problem with the repetition of his inner dialogue in relation to Gideon's Scarlet). Showalter did an excellent job for his personality and the originality of his demon, but man, it's hard for Showalter background character! The AgonyScarlet has lived through thousands of years have demonized an immortal child, that's for sure. Still, she is passionate, contradictory, tenacious, stubborn, and strong will, and I felt it was the perfect match for Gideon, who has always been one of my favorite Lords. I loved their scenes and all their interactions – the two were also one of the highest in the last book. The problem is that there were not enough scenes of them or their development, and is becoming afamiliar with the problem series.br / br / The trend of the Lord HEA meet a character in the books before the real story of the Lord is one that is not sitting well with me. I'm not sure what I'm picky about it, but making the novel aspect seems almost disappointing. It 'also at least part of why I did not feel there was enough development with the couple featured in their books lately. It would certainly avoid a new player to join the series at this point. Theseare no longer in any way stand-alone books, not that the first would have been completely successful as such. But now there is too current to allow sufficient exposure to bring a new reader up to speed. Hell, no time to exposure sufficient to remind readers already familiar with the series about what happens on.br / br / In addition, a few things started to wear on me as I read more particularly the books of the latter are virtually unrecognizable after the firstbooks. Does anyone remember the war between hunters and gentlemen? Lately, the series is more about politics and machinations pity – and I do not like so much. Also, I'm all for a series in growth and development, but there are so many characters and plot threads involved in the Darkest Lie that there was more than one point in the book that I had to stop and think about how everything is supposed to the connection. And I could not do some of these connections. Not to mention, while I wasoriginally of the opinion that the addition of the pathos of the Greek Titans and it was interesting, is starting to weigh down the global arc.br / br / What happened to the struggle between the Lords and Galen hunters? There was a scene or two thrown in here, but it was more a nod because of progression real story arc. And I think that Showalter has begun discussions with too many Too many characters that provide too many teasers, without any resolution. What is / was William? What is the ex? AsWilliam Gilly problems will be solved? What's Siena going to do now that she is burdened with anger? Atlas will join the fray with his partner, now that his name was raised, as was mentioned in his story? What the hell is Strider (lost) by taking decisions covered for the mantle? Br / br / Here's my big question: What has happened to a paranormal romance book that introduces the couple's romantic lead, develop their characters and their relationship and gives them aSweaty but deserving HEA in a book series with the arc overall development side, sometimes overlapping, but never overshadow this relationship? This issue is currently being missed in The Darkest Lie series Lotu. I'm still a fan of the series. Showalter and I still love her stories. The book is well written in technique, with aplomb Showalter always all the shows. But if I have to be completely honest, the plot threads are not the overwhelming ratiorelationships in these books recently, and my enjoyment of the stories fall. 3.5 Stars.br / br / Originally reviewed for a good book deserves another.
