Mounted the “UTG Model 4/16 Complete Match-grade Rear Sight” on an RRA AR-15 flat-top.br /br /Who would have known that you can get a rear sight this sturdy and functional for less than thirty bucks. The knobs for windage/elevation adjustments give great feedback (amount of pressure per click) and the thing is just quality all around.br /br /Pros:br /- Thumbscrew for mounting/dismounting fast and easy, once in place it’s very sturdy.br /- Very rear column of the sight (closest to you in sale pic) contours to your rifle. Nice touch and I would think it adds stability.br /- Very tight, no loose parts or screws.br /- Dual apertures.br /br /Cons (if I were to nit-pick):br /- Not collapsible, you will probably not be able to use it with a long scope unless you have some very high scope rings.br /- The finish has a tiny bit more sheen than the average “matte-black” AR rifle. Noticeable only to a person who is specifically looking for that kind of flaw.br /- The metal work has light scratches on some edges, they powdercoated right over them. Really a non-issue, just a super-picky cosmetic flaw.br /br /br /All-in-all, this is a solid buy. I say that as an owner of this sight, and a high-dollar rear iron sight. This deal really brings back a bit of common-sense to a market of super over-priced and simple-designed accessories.br /br /Bottom line, I’d pit this rear-sight up against a high-dollar iron sight anyday of the week.br /br /—————br /br /Edit on 1/31/2010:br /br /I still stand behind my review, it’s a great rear sight. It’s nearly an exact copy of the rear sight that comes with the SmithWesson MP 15-22.br /br /The reason for the update:br /br /This site works with the IBSZ technique… which I highly recommend. Actually, someone took it a step further with a “Revised Improved Battle Sight Zero”… and I used this sight for that today at the range. Revised IBSZ works, and it has raised my confidence in my shooting ability. It’s nice to be able to accurately hit bullseye @ 50yds, 100yds, and 200yds… almost effortless.

This actually was a pleasant surprise. I expected a fairly cheap made sight that I would have to tweak a bit. Instead I got a very good BUIS that compares to others at twice the price. The fit was very good and the finish is better than I expected.

Like most of you AR shooters I was reading these reviews to get others opinions of this sight. Like you I went back and forth between buying this sight or a more expensive one. The first thing on everybodys mind is that its made in China. I like you have wrestled with this problem. It was one of the things that kept me from buying it. Besides being the “cheap” factor both in workmanship and price I also wrestled with this; Do I want to put a Chinese part on an American Rifle ? It seems sacreligious to do so. I would have no problem if it was a Chinese rifle or if the Chinese made AR-15s. Now the workmanship, the way I overcame the “Chinese” made prejudice was to remember that the Chinese HAVE A MILITARY. So their State owned Factories would know something about weapons making. Now the price factor why is it so cheap ? Again I had to remind myself about the Chinese. They pay their workers crap compared to the US worker. I seriously doubt the Chinese worker gets paid Union Wages. If anything it’s slave labor so the price is passed on to us. Hell everything made in China that’s why they own us. Now to the meat, I just wanted a basic sight for my Carbine. I did not care if it had a sight drum that went out to 500m which it does. So I was suprised on how good this sight looks ! In fit and finish it is really nice it matches my upper well. The clicks are positive and knobs and dials work well. I was just going to use this sight as an accessory when not using a red dot but I think I’ll leave it on. Like I said I bought it for a Carbine so I don’t plan on making shots over 100 yds. If I was to put this on a Match Rifle or if I was LE I would spend more. I don’t plan on using this in the “Real World” as my targets don’t shoot back. So in a nutshell this sight is better than good enough.

I mounted this on my AR15 flattop and it stays tight and is easy to adjust. Has the standard two apertures (large and small) for different ranged shooting. I also purchased a UTG riser for my red dot and have been impressed by the quality of their inexpensive products.
