Let me start by saying this is my first DSLR. I wanted to be able to take great pictures of my baby I wanted to get into photography + armor. DSLRs have always seemed a little 'intimidating, but once you take the time to check the features and read some of the manuals (I would be lying if I said I read everything) comes together and the results are great pictures. br / br / Mine came with the 18-55mm and its definitely does a great job. Eventually I added a 55-200mm and a fixed 35 mmlens to my bag. The only thing to know about this camera when it comes to updating your goal is that the D5000 does not have an auto-focus motor in the camera. You will need to obtain a goal that has the motor built AF-S lens. This is a very important detail. If you're buying a lens, make sure it says and AF-DX S.br / BR / HD Video capacity have been a great and useful feature of this camera. I got tons of videos of my baby in 740p. Be sure to enter the menu and videoactually select 740p. For a while 'I was wondering why my videos were not looking so great. It helps to read the manual:) br / Another thing on the video recording. It will not be able to autofocus while recording. You will need to focus, then record. Otherwise you should set it to manual focus and adjust on the fly. I just record to a fixed position.br / br / For a beginner like me, the camera has a wide range of options default standard portrait, pet portrait, setting food, sportssetting and many others. It also has manual settings you can customize. I'm happy to say that I have moved from manual preset in just a couple months.br / br / Overall, I was completely satisfied with this purchase. Its probably the first time I bought something and had buyer's remorse. If you buy this camera, take the time to know its nifty features.

I bought this for me as a birthday gift. I used a Nikon CoolPix for many years, and decided to upgrade to a DSLR. I've always liked Nikon, but I used my mom Olympus DSLR and really liked the extra features and manual skills. I studied the D5000, D3000 and comparable cameras Cannon. In the end, I liked the photo quality of the Nikon based on a comparison side-by-side. I only had just over a month, but my shots are much better. I have a goodregarding my eye on, but I was frustrated with the quality of my older camera. Now I see things I've never seen before! Shutter speed is incredible. I have not had a chance to use all the features, but the automatic setting, image quality is much better. I will update this review after I had the opportunity to use more.br / br / I got my camera sooner than expected and was very happy. I have to wait 10 days to get my camera. Overall,I am a pretty happy customer.

I used this camera for a short time and now all I can say is I could not be happier with his great camera that takes beautiful pictures and its easy to use a child can do if you're new to digital camera i would I also recommend camera Canon Rebel XSI They are about the same price Both consumer and take pictures as large as I would like to view its very easy to use and if you do not know what help button press dose, and this is what your dose so coolits the best camera I have ever owned, and are sold on Nikon Live View is OK its focus very slow and in movie mode that does not autofocus, but I have this camera, but the video I bought to take a big picture and see that I greatly recommend this camera if you are looking to buy a
