I had reached the limits of my beloved Pentax K20 for the type of shoot I do, and I found what I was looking into the new Pentax K-7. I needed fast and accurate auto focus performance in all lighting conditions and outstanding ISO low light, high. The 7D is released at the right time. I did consider the Nikon D300, but I preferred Canon L lens choices and cost less than those who were interested in. It 'was expensive to switch to Canonand buy all new lenses, but with the 7D was certainly worth it! br / br / all of the positives were repeated several times. I can not add anything new. My point of reference for the performance of 7D was the Pentax K20 and K-7 (briefly). In comparison, the 7D is at least twice as fast to acquire focus lock medium to low light situations. Focus accuracy was excellent, once master how to properly use various ways of focusing. 'm Getting shots now I might never be possible to obtainfirst with the Pentax in situations of immediate-shot, candid pictures and moving subjects. In addition, the excellent high-ISO performance allows me to shoot at ISO 3200-5000 +, no problem, giving me more flexibility with the higher f-stop and shutter speed, which is useful in situations with little light and lenses that have image stabilization (17-40 F4L, 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 F4L). While the exposure control worked very well, I have noticed a tendency to overexpose a bit 'most oftime. Some have commented on the shutter sound. I remember the Pentax K-7 has a silent shutter sound, which I found a BIG plus for shooting Candids inconspicuous. The 7D has a very quiet shutter, but with an unusual sound – like a sort of spring hook on what would be a very expensive toy gun Dart. I got used to it and sometimes depends on the quality stealth shoot unnoticed. br / br / br / However, there are few must in my mind, essential for the next update ofcamera.br / br / Cons: br / The biggest problem I have with the 7D is the fact that the mode dial is constantly evolving approach to the one I left the last. Part of the problem is that the power switch is located right next to it. Rapidly turning the power on or off may cause the mode dial to be changed. Since I often shoot spontaneously from the "hip" while the camera strap is hanging over my shoulder, I recently discovered that the strap can rub all over the mode dial and moveanother setting. Not good if you're doing sudden, "Take the hit now!" shot. The cure is simple: I like the Pentax K-7 and the use of a lock button at the center of the dial. Problem solved. Of course, every photographer on top of their game know what are the camera settings every time you press the shutter button (note to self). Br / br / The other irritating that I have is with the CF card door. And 'big and slides backwards to open, so you have the back end of it along the right side of the bodywhere you put the most pressure from the palm of your hand. Mount a heavy lens on this camera as a 24-70 f2.8L or 70-200 f2.8L, and the pressure from your hand on the door edge CF leads to flex and squeak. I heard the 5D has the same problem. Mine started strong, but now it flexes and getting noisy. I also doubt the integrity of the closing time of this cover, a reference back to Pentax for what seemed like a better seal on their bodies high end. br / br/ Conclusion: br / The two issues I mentioned are certainly not deal breakers. They can be solved easily if Canon decides to do so, and can be represented by the management of users / acceptance. I still have a long way to go to get to the point of mastering the full potential of this camera, but for what I've experienced so far, this is an excellent buy and gives little, if you need an APS-C format camera shoot professionally . Overall, this is a great camera that took my picture ahigher level.br / br / br /

Totally Awesome – J. GRISSOM – Billings, MT USA
Love everything about it. The volume of functions and capabilities is a bit 'overwhelming at first, but after spending some time with the camera and a good book on it, will take great pictures in no time. Makes great movies too! Attention only to the internal microphone to record the sounds of fire and the zoom wishing to invest in an external microphone. In addition, the autofocus does not really work in movie mode, but I found using the manual focus in movie mode to be aissue. Buy it, you'll love it.

I have owned all the rebels, and when I heard about the 7D I waited in advance. I'm an armature, a sort of (I use manual) and found this camera to be the best for what I shot. My shots came out crisp and this is the first camera I used, who took great sport photos.br / br / If you are on the market for a new camera and are considering the 5DmkII or 7D, I would go with a 7D because of the dual and quality. While it is not full frame like the 5D, thethe pictures are still up to par with the 5D and there are only small differences based on all the reviews I've read on websites.br photo / br / I recommend getting the body and the lens 18-135 lens kit that comes the 7D is not as good as the latest target.
